We had an earth day celebration at the farmers market in Duluth last Saturday! There have no veggies or anything yet, we're pretty much the last place in the states to have fresh grown available, all grown on the tundra in northern Mn.

If you are in Ga, you probably already have farmers markets open! Ours is opening on Saturday for the season, we're very late up here.

Farmers markets are a GREAT way to go. I buy veggies in season and freeze for the year. It's organic, pesticide free..and environmentally sound to support local grown. The food is fresh picked the evening before and you can't get fresher than that unless you grow your own. Look for a farmers market near you!

Ok, it's finally warm enough out here to work. I had to stop and build a little fire. The icy winds blowing of the big Gitchee Gummi are very cold today (again ) I gotta grab a log for a footstool as my feet are cold in warm socks!

tulip have you been to the dekalb farmers market? that place has food from everywhere - i never really shopped there when i lived in atlanta - that place gave me sensory overload

@ Nanook, as warm as the temps are here, you'd think fresh produce should not be a problem. I guess I'm just looking for more locally grown produce.

@ Seveen, yes I have been to Dekalb's Farmers Market. I am pleased with the selections and do find it to be less commercial than a lot of the other places. By commercial, I mean I went to buy some lettuce at a closer farmer's market and it was from Canada. No offense, but you really had to send off that far for some Boston Bibb Lettuce?

I have considered joining one of those farm co-ops where you get a variety of seasonal vegetables once a week. I might be too controlling for that though. I like trying new foods, but I'm not sure I want to be surprised every week. I think I need a little more order than that, but we'll see.

My xxx-mother-in-law contacted me yesterday ... wanted to chat ~ she FINALLY said 'sorry' ~ wanted to give me the low down on what transpired to cause their son to cut them off ~

no surprise ... none at all ~

concerned that my Bwoy Child will not get what is rightfully his from his father's 'estate' ....

I told her not to worry ... if there was 'anything' ... his father should give it to his son - and done!! He does not/can not just give his son whatever there is - cuz there is nothing!!

Bwoy Child is over it all ... done with it ...

Marnin Laurel. I guess at this point you just have to let it go. Easier said than done, I know...but the people are not worthy of an extra effort from you.

The new avatar bead? OMG I love this bead. I put it up for sale but only for a few days till I get caught up. When I get caught up if I still have it, I'ma gonna use it myself! I have so many ideas to do with it, but I can always try to make another! However, I will never be able to exactly duplicate this one, there are at least 10 different colors in there!

but - what was making things so hard was Bwoy being caught up in the Drama ...

but - he has told me recently ~ he does not wish to sound 'cold' .. but - he knows where his father's priorities lie ... and he knows he never really had a father - and he does not care.
